Today I want to talk to you about common mistakes I consistently find during our complimentary website evaluations (click here to schedule yours for free!) 🕵🏻♀️
First things first –
One of the biggest mistakes I see others make is they fail to welcome visitors, address where they are located, and highlight their area of specialty. Make sure you cover these three bases: welcome new users, explain what you offer, and list where are you located / offer services. These three things should be communicated right out of the gate because they help answer all of your visitors questions right away, rather than them having to dig for this vital information
Next up on the list has thousands of repeated offenders, and little do they know they’ve completely forgotten to look at their website on mobile. They’ve used a one size fits all platform and designed their website on their computer without even thinking to make sure things look cohesive, have scaled properly, or if heck, If their website is even mobile friendly at all! Make sure you check your ENTIRE site on mobile devices before sending potential clients there! One of the biggest issues I consistently see with scaling on mobile devices are menus and galleries. Screenfly is an amazing FREE tool you can use to crosscheck your site on desktop screens and mobile devices!
Copyright your website! This is the last and most certainly not least thing on this list of mistakes. Unfortunately copyright infringement is all too common when it comes to the digital world. If you have failed to copyright your website and reserve your rights you will definitely want to do so ASAP. The importance of copywriting and reserving your rights is profound because not only does it protect the design of your website, but it also protects all of the content and photos contained within the website.
Now what are you waiting for?! 🏃🏻♀️ Run and go make sure you have all your bases covered! ‼️
